Como preparar a tela para a pintura | How to prepare the canvas for painting

1.
- Tinta de parede branco neve - 1 parte
- água - 3 partes

2.
- (PVA) branco neve - 2 partes
- cola branca cascorez rótulo azul - meia parte
A segunda e a terceira coloque menos água.

3.
- cola branca - 100 g
- água - 1 litro
- branco de zinco(pigmento) - 10%

4.
Os antigos utilizavam essa:
- água - 1 litro
- gelatina em folha - 100gr
- gesso - 600gr

- gelatina - 50gr
- branco de zinco (pigmento) - 10%
- gesso - 1%
- glicerina - 100ml
Derreter a gelatina em água morna, colocar o pigmento, o gesso e a glicerina. Misturar tudo e dar pinceladas na tela.

Before beginning the painting we need to prepare the canvas or the object to be painted. This preparation is called PRIMER.

PRIMER is the protection of the painting against the fungi, against color changes and a neutralizer for the background of the painting. It is an insulation solution.

Some media for painting are considered vegetable fiber and cellulose. This pulp, according to their concentration, can react with the components of the ink (binder, pigment and solvent) causing changes in color, shedding the layers and fungi. To protect the paint against these effects we use a solution that we call insulation protection, base or primer.

The composition of the base should be similar to the composition of the paint you will use. Some formulas are adapted to all techniques. The industrial media are already prepared with insulation base. There are formulas for the preparation of the insulating bases that are safer than the industrials for the support we prepare ourselves. For example, on paper, “eucatex”, wood, MDF, ceramic, plastic, metal....
The bases for the paint should be applied in a maximum of 3 layers, always waiting to dry before applying the next layer.

Formulas:
1.
- Wall ink color “white snow” – 1 share.
- Water - 3 shares

2.
- (PVA) white snow - 2 shares
- White PVA glue blue label - half share.
- Water - 2 shares.
This primer is the most used. For the first layer put a little bit more water (half part). For the second and third layer use less water.

3.
- White glue - 100gr
- Water - 1 liter
- Zinc white (pigment) - 10%

4.
The former painter use this:
- Water - 1 liter
- Gelatin leaf - 100gr
- Plaster - 600gr
Melt the gelatin in warm water and add the plaster.

5.
This is quite old too, but more malleable.
- Water - 1 liter
- Gelatin - 50gr
- Zinc white (pigment) - 10%
- Plaster - 1%
- Glycerin - 100ml
Melt the gelatin in warm water, place the pigment, the plaster and glycerin. Mix everything and paint the canvas.

COMO LEONARDO DA VINCI PREPARAVA SUA TELA | HOW LEONARDO DA VINCI USED TO PREPARE HIS SUPPORT

- "The wood should be cypress or pear or that gives a dusting or walnut, and you take the putty and the turpentine twice distilled and white or lime before, then put it in a frame so you can swell and the second to reduce the moisture content. Then cover it with a double or triple solution of arsenic or corrosive sublimate in alcohol. It the then boiled flax oil, to which penetrates across its extension, and before it cooled down, rub the panel with a cloth that looks dry, then apply liquid varnish and pencil to ceruse, then wash it with urine when it is dry. Finally, jump with pumice and finally outlines your drawing. Then the common copper-coating of thirty parts of verdigris, and a layer composed of a part of verdigris and two of yellow. “
- Leonardo thus obtained a smooth surface such as marble.

Tinta acrílica | acrylic ink

Posted by Picasa

If you are intending to start painting I advise buying acrylic inks.
With some tubes of ink and some brushes of different sizes you can start your learning in painting.
The acrylic inks emerged as an alternative to oil in the first decades of the twentieth century. The Mexican painters need a better ink to fix their murals on the wall. With research they found that ink that beginning in 1940 was distributed all around the world.
The acrylic ink will give the sensation of water color when used well watered. It will give the sensation of oil if used pure.
As the ink dries very quickly you should use the acrylic medium to slow down the drying. Imported material already comes with the acrylic medium.
For Brazilian ink it is necessary to use medium, but if you do not want to use the medium there will be no problem.
There are also acrylic varnishes to use after the painting is ready. It is not necessary. I don’t usually use it. If we buy everything they say…
For cleaning your work when it is ready and completely dry, use a clean cloth moistened with clean water.
