Para fazermos uma tinta precisamos de alguns componentes: o que vai dar a cor, o aglutinante, o aditivo, o fungicida e a água.
Para a cor nesta receita vamos utilizar a anilina de bolo. Pode ser líquida, em pó ou em pasta. Você pode fazer outras cores com alimentos naturais como o açafrão, colorau, canela, guaraná em pó, café, beterraba, amora, espinafre, cenoura, hortelã, urucum...muitas outras. Os alimentos podem ser encontrados em pó ou frescos. Quando frescos extraímos a cor socando a folha e aproveitando o suco.
